I am not very familiar with chess, so can somebody please explain how exactly Magnus Carlsen offered a draw?
Vidit has not resigned it was a draw offered by Magnus Carlsen.
This is no longer his shortest game, as he resigned against Hans Niemann on move 2. Of course, as most people know, this is because of the suspicious of cheating, which were certainly not unfounded. And, of course, I tend to think the allegations are probably true, despite there being no concrete proof. All of the evidence is circumstantial. But it’s a hell of a lot of circumstances.

It’s amazing how knowing the context changes how you view a situation.
Here I thought Magnus was acting all smug during the game and especially when his opponent “resigned”. He stood up and waved at the opponent in contempt. I started judging him. Thinking how a character flaw like that can just taint someone’s talent.
Then I read other comments and it turns out Magnus just had an upset stomach and wanted – apparently even verbally asked for a draw which the opponent graciously accepted. The upset stomach explains why Magnus is all distracted and fidgety (not because he’s disrespecting the opponent like I thought before).
Totally changed how I view the situation when I rewatched the video after knowing what was going on. Even hear him say he has terrible stomach as he stands up and waves.
People really think gm level players like these hangs a queen in 5 moves , offers draws and moves on lmfao.
